Guild Information

What is Shinibana?
Shinibana is a guild of World of Warcraft players. We are part of the alliance faction on Skullcrusher.
Most of our members are from Scandinavian countries, but we take on members from all over Europe. We started as a "family guild" but we have expanded over the last few month, we now have over 100 characters and is one of the 20 largest alliance guilds on the server.

Shinibana is a guild of mature casuals.

A Guild..
Quote:

o A guild is an association of people of the same trade or pursuits, formed to protect mutual interests and maintain standards of morality or conduct.
o ..history of trade, technology, intellectual property, regulated professions, social security, and professional ethics are entwined with the history of the guilds in Europe.

This is what Shinibana is, a guild. Some people join us, play with us for a while, but then realise that they lack something that everyone else in this guild has. Or that they don't fit in. Or that they don't just get what a guild is about.

Some people join Shinibana and then start to think that why "don't we do it this or that way.. or why don't we kick out all the noobs and recruit 1337 gamers and start doing raid progress every week". These people haven't understand what Shinibana is about. They think that every guild is the same. That a thing that is good for one guild must be good for every guild.

Not everyone can fit in here in our guild, and we respect those who leave. Some people are better of in other guilds, where they can play with people of their own kind, and Shinibana is better off without theese people. Sad.. but true.

Quote:
o The guild was made up by experienced and confirmed experts in their field of handicraft. They were called master craftsmen. Before a new employee could rise to the level of mastery, he had to go through a schooling period during which he was first called an apprentice. After this period he could rise to the level of journeyman. Apprentices would typically not learn more than the most basic techniques until they were trusted by their peers to keep the guild's or company's secrets.

We will promote those that we think deserves it. Those who fill a certain criteria.
Not everyone will be promoted. Some will stay Samurai or Ashigaru. That doesn't mean you suck, or that we don't like you. It's just that we can't make everyone an officer, and when we promote a few of you, we will take the ones most suited.

  ..of mature..
Quote:
o Having reached full natural growth or development
Worked out fully by the mind
o No longer subject to great expansion or development

In the search for themselves among the crazed media world of today, many youths try to fit in by embracing a certain culture or style. They are gamers, rockers, bratz, otakus, west side gangstahs, white trash or what have you. In order to really make everyone understand that they belong to this group, they constantly try to backbite the other cultures.
Most Shinibana members are above that. We are so certain about our selves, so secure, that we can accept other peoples cultures and customs.
In shinibana we have vegitarians and real-life hunters raiding side by side.

Now, we don't kick uncertain people from our guild. We don't. But we assume that people will respect each other. And that one Shinibana member never should attack another, other than in a fair in-game duel.
If you get ganked, a "ffs, bloody horde!" will pass unoticed. But should you use "bloody" or "ffs" against another guild member, you have gone wrong.
Now, issues will rise, conflicts will occur, that is not unusual and only natural, but they should be sorted out in a cool and gentle manner. Should you fail in that, contact an officer for assistance.

..casuals.
Quote:

o Occurring at irregular or infrequent intervals
o Being without ceremony or formality; relaxed: a casual evening with friends.
o Not serious or thorough; superficial: a casual inspection.
o Showing little interest or concern; nonchalant: a casual disregard for cold weather.

We do some raids maybe, if we get enough people for it. If we don't, we can't. We will never demand our members to play each sunday though. That is not what they signed up for when they joined. They signed for a casual guild.
The more everyone play, the better. If we make 2 raids every evening, that is great. But don't count on it.
Hope for the best, plan for the worst.
And if three lvl 80 priests are online and you need a healer, but they all say they feel more like grinding.. respect that. They are casual aswell.

You are welcome
